This major earthquake in Pakistan happen on 8 October 2005. The death toll is huge and the world was slow to respond. So far the estimated death toll is 86,000.

The hardest hit areas are in the mountains and one of the biggest threats to come will be from the extreme cold of winter. Snow is predicted to arrive soon, sometime around the second week of December.
